...then complete challenges on our trail map, available as pdfs (8 1/2 x 14") below (on the right) and in print form at the library. When you reach one of the large numbered circles on the map, come to the children's desk at the library and collect a limited edition button. When you collect a button, you also get an entry into a drawing for your choice of our grand prizes AND a chance to get picked as Reader of the Week! (learn more below) BONUS: when you reach circle #3, choose a free book at the children's desk.
Grand Prizes:
a punchcard for 10 free visits to Old Memorial Pool donated by the City of Northfield (2 winners—also good in 2023!)
a one-year family membership to the Minnesota Zoo
The final day to claim buttons and submit drawing entries is August 11. Grand prize drawings will take place on August 12. Questions? Please email Youth Services librarians Cat Stricklan (catherine.stricklan@ci.northfield.mn.us) and Emily Lloyd (emily.lloyd@ci.northfield.mn.us)
A READER OF THE WEEK will be selected every week from among those who have reached a "button milestone" that week. A name drawn on Monday will be the name of following week's Reader of the Week. We'll take your picture and ask you some questions like your grade, school, and favorite book, and feature these on the library's Facebook and Instagram, on the mayor's Facebook, and on images inside the library!
You'll also win two extra entries into our Grand Prize drawing, a $5.00 gift card to The Blast, and get to display a Reader of the Week yard sign in your yard all week. If there's no yard where you live, we'll make you a poster to hang on your door or window that you can keep!
