Volunteering

The Northfield Public Library is proud of the talented and diverse group of volunteers who donate their time to helping the library run smoothly. A variety of short-term and ongoing volunteer projects may be available.

To volunteer at the library, complete the volunteer application and background check consent form and return them to the library. The background check will be sent to the City of Northfield's Human Resources Department. You will be contacted by our Volunteer Coordinator to schedule an interview.

Join the Friends of the Northfield Library

The Friends and Foundation of the Northfield Public Library is a volunteer, nonprofit organization with more than 275 members. Since 1982, the group has supported the Northfield Public Library by contributing financial support for supplemental services, providing material for children's programs, and sponsoring activities to aid the library and community. The Friends are pleased to welcome new members and are currently recruiting new board members. Additional information is available on the Friends and Foundation website.

Teen Advisory Board

The Northfield Public Library Teen Advisory Board is a service group that gives teens a voice at our library, and makes the library a better place for teens to visit and find what they need. The board is open to teens in middle-high school. Members volunteer to plan, promote, and implement programs for teen events, in addition to making purchase suggestions for the YA collection.

If you have any questions or want more information, contact Cat Sticklan or call 507-645-1813. Please return completed applications to the Northfield Public Library circulation or reference desks, or to Catherine via email. Thanks!
