When the Nook software version updates, it causes incompatibility with previously downloaded content.
Follow these steps in order to fix this problem:
1) Connect the Nook to your computer
2) Open the Nook drive
3) Find the Adobe Digital Editions folder and the Digital Editions folder and delete them both
4) Disconnect the Nook
5) Open Adobe Digital Editions and reconnect the Nook
6) Authorize the Nook when it asks you to authorize a device
7) Prevously downloaded books should still be in ADE - if not, re-download them
8) Drag the book(s) back onto your Nook
